Miele is known for its patented Honeycomb Drum™-- Forged from the very best stainless steel, the drum features a unique convex pattern that resembles a honeycomb.
Smaller holes in the drum ensure a reduction in snags and tears of the mop.
In addition, the Scoop and Ladle ribs and the hexagonal pattern allow fabrics to glide on a thin film of water, which enables the item to get wet faster.
The Mop Washer features an “Enhanced Honeycomb drum™. Miele has optimized their Honeycomb drum™ with additional perforations in the rear drum panel to ensure that the rough soil and debris from the mops is reliably removed, without affecting the mops or textiles being washed in the drum.
The result: Optimum mop head and cloth protection |

Why regular drums don’t work well:
Most regular drums have large hole patterns, which can catch textiles, specifically the fringes of mops during the spin cycle. This leads to tears, rips and picks. In addition, the fringe penetrates the holes of the drum; they can touch heating elements which can cause severe damage.
